The above image is a retro travel poster I created based on the fictional southwestern desert town of Clara Vista, where much of the events take place in Little Gods. I thought it nice to create some fun context for the town as if you could actually visit it. The charming, whimsical style of these posters with their bold minimalist typography I thought played well juxaposed to the actual character of the Clara Vista like Stephen King’s Castle Rock, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, or H.P. Lovecraft’s Arkham. The nostalgia these posters hopefully evoke of a bygone era of romanticism and travel gives you a sense of the time period in which my story takes place.
